Comment: Deutung: Im ersten Teil der Inschrift sieht Grønvik (1987b, 55-58) eine Adressatenformel nach demselben Muster wie die aus dem Mittelalter bekannte lat. Adressatenformeln. Er verweist dabei auf die Sequenz Heldaʀ Kunimundiu 'Heldaʀ [an] Kunimuduʀ' (Tjurkö I), die seiner Meinung nach ebenfalls eine Adressatenformel darstellt. Die Inschrift wäre danach beim Begräbnis entstanden und stellt einen letzten Gruß von Wīʀ an Wiwjȭ dar.
